About the Founder

ocean

Andrew Arneson, LMT (Lic. 17557) is a uniquely talented medical scientist, the founder and sole practitioner of ANSSR therapy. Arneson is also the founder of a revolutionary behavior science—the science of eliciting healthy behavior—which informs ANSSR therapy. His medical discoveries are best described as spontaneous self-regulation in the autonomic nervous system, an effect of total emotional and physical comfort made possible by Arneson's behavior science.

Arneson graduated from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in 1992. For three years, he provided neuromuscular therapy in four chiropractic offices, in two states. He quickly became disillusioned with the pain management ethic. In 1995, he opened a private massage therapy practice in New Jersey. Indulging his perfectionism, he used his office as a laboratory and studied hundreds of details that contribute to relaxation. He soon made several major medical discoveries, including the pain discharge mechanism, and earned a reputation for curing migraines and injury-related chronic pain.

In 2000, using his minister’s license received in 1995 from a non-denominational Christian church in California, Arneson began a counseling practice in New Jersey and reinvented psychotherapy by applying the principles realized in his previous practice. He developed a groundbreaking behavior model that details the mechanics of converting ineffective behavior to effective behavior—the holy grail of behavior medicine.

In 2011, Arneson relocated to Arizona and opened a practice offering ANSSR therapy in a stand-alone method for chronic pain, i.e. without conventional massage therapy. He also attempted, unsuccessfully, to locate a university that would host a research project for his unique pain medicine. Thus began a decade of fruitless searching for research opportunities. He made countless inquiries in a dozen countries, which met with baffling indifference—a symptom of pervasive anti-science in the global medical community.

In early 2021, Arneson became a resident of Hawaii Island, where he enjoys writing, snorkeling, hiking, and caring for his four rabbits. With KPI, Arneson continues to research his behavior science and the life-changing effects of nervous system healing mechanisms. KPI will expand when other research-oriented practitioners join to form a team, ideally to include an accomplished FSM practitioner.
